Ingredients

  • beans - 1.1 lb (500 g)
  • smoked ribs - 1.3 lb (600 g)
  • onion - 2 onions
  • carrots - 1 pc.
  • tomato juice - 1 cup
  • red peppers - 1/2 pc.
  • hot peppers - 1 pc.
  • salt
  • for the thickener
  • onion - 1 onion
  • paprika - 1 tbsp.
  • flour - 1 tbsp.
  • for sprinkling
  • fresh mint
  • fresh basil

How to make

Soak the beans the night before. The next day, wash them, cover them with water and boil them, but discard the first water.

Wash the beans and pour warm water. Boil them again. Once it boils, add the oil, the chopped onion, grated carrot, fresh pepper and hot pepper.

Cut the smoked ribs and add them to the beans stew, so that the beans can absorb the smoked aroma of the ribs. Towards the end of cooking, add the tomato juice and salt.

When the stew is ready, make a thickener of very finely chopped onions, by frying it in heated oil and add the paprika and flour.

Pour the thickener over the beans.

Finely chop the mint and basil and sprinkle the stew with the spices. Enjoy your meal!
