How to make
Sift the flour together with the salt and baking powder, add the sugar, then the cold butter and the egg.
Knead and the purpose is to gather the dough into a ball, if it is very hard or a crumbly, add two tablespoons of cold water, if it is very soft - more flour.
Put the dough in a bag and put it in the fridge for two hours to cool. Then divide the dough into two, one part larger and the other smaller.
Roll out the bigger one with a diameter bigger than the diameter of the baking tray (mine is 8″ /20 cm/), transfer the crust into the pan and shape it. Spread the jam on top (in this case - pear jam), roll out the rest of the dough, cut it into strips and form a grid on the jam.
If desired, the pie can be smeared with egg yolk. Bake it at 360°F (180 degrees), until it's fully baked. Very easy jam pie.
