Ingredients

  • wholemeal flour - 1.1 lb (500 g)
  • dry yeast - 2 tbsp.
  • sugar - 2 tsp.
  • lukewarm water - 1 2/5 cups (350 ml)
  • eggs - 2 pcs.
  • olive oil - 2 tbsp.
  • salt - 1 tsp.
  • apple cider vinegar - 1 tsp.

How to make

For this wholemeal bread, place the dry yeast in a deeper bowl, add the sugar, lukewarm water, stir and leave it aside for 10 minutes.

Combine the eggs and oil in a suitable bowl. Separately combine the flour and salt, add the eggs and oil, vinegar, then mix the yeast and mix with a food processor, so that all of the ingredients are blended well (the dough should look like wet sand).

Transfer the dough into a greased baking tray. Cover it with a plastic bag and leave it to rise for about an hour.

Bake it in a preheated oven at 390°F (200°C) for 10 minutes, then bake it at 430°F (220°C) for 15 minutes.

Take out the baked wholemeal bread from the oven, sprinkle it with water, cover it with a clean kitchen towel and leave the Serbian wholemeal bread to cool.
