Ingredients

  • small calamari - 12 oz (350 g)
  • onions - 1/2 onion
  • garlic - 1 clove
  • ginger - as big as a walnut
  • soy sauce - 2 tbsp (30 ml)
  • beer - 1 cup (200 ml)
  • olive oil - 3 tbsp (45 ml)
measures

How to make

Clean the calamari from the entrails of the tubes and cut the eyes from the heads along with the tentacles. Do not peel them from the outer thin skin.

Finely chop the onion and the garlic and slice the ginger into thin circles.

Heat olive oil over medium heat and fry the onion first for a few minutes, then add the garlic, ginger and calamari heads.

Cook briefly until they're browned lightly and add the soy sauce first and then the beer. Allow the liquid to reduce by half and remove the pan from the heat.

In a separate pan, drizzle a little olive oil and over high heat roast the calamari tubes on both sides briefly. A minute and a half on each side.

Arrange them on a plate and pour the sauce over them.

The result is very interesting - sea flavor with oriental notes.

The calamari with ginger, beer and soy sauce are ready.
