Ingredients

  • potatoes - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • feta cheese - 14 oz (400 g), crumbled
  • pickles - 1 jar
  • leeks - 1 - 2 bunches, chopped
  • bacon - 14 oz (400 g), or ham
  • oil - 3 tablespoons
  • eggs - 5, hard boiled
  • cream cheese - 4/5 cup (200 g)
  • mayonnaise - 2 packages
  • gelatin - 1 package

How to make

Heat the oil in a skillet and sauté the chopped leeks, then add the chopped bacon or ham. Fry briefly and remove from the heat. Add salt and pepper to taste. Meanwhile, put the potatoes to boil well in salted water, but they must remain whole to be grated.

Peel and grate them. Put the gelatin to swell, melt and mix it with the cream cheese and mayonnaise. Prepare a form with removable walls. On the bottom, smear a little of the mayonnaise mixture. Sprinkle it well with grated potatoes, crumbled feta cheese, a layer of leeks and bacon, thinly sliced pickles and eggs and a little mayonnaise.

Optionally, add spices to taste. Next, arrange another layer of potatoes and products in the same order. Smear the finished cake with mayonnaise and put it for a few hours in the fridge to set. Make a decoration of your choice after removing it from the form and inverting it.
