How to make
Gently tenderize the chicken steaks and season them evenly with salt and pepper. Arrange them in a greased tray and place finely crushed onions on top.
Spread each steak with a bit of mustard and mayonnaise, beaten together in advance. Sprinkle the top with plenty of coarsely grated cheese and hand press so that the cheese shreds merge together.
Put the tray to bake for about 40 minutes at 370°F (190 °C) in tin foil. Shortly before the steaks are done, remove the foil and bake until they get a nice tan. Optionally, serve with a side of steamed and seasoned mushrooms.
