How to make
Cut the 2 un-grated apples into thin slices, sprinkle them with a little lemon juice, so they don't darken. Beat the eggs with the sugar, add the butter, milk, flour, baking powder (sifted) and vanilla. Mix with the grated apples.
Pour this into a buttered and floured cake form with a diameter of about 10″ (25 cm). Set aside 3 tablespoons of the dough to cover the apples with. Sprinkle the mixture in the cake form with walnuts and cinnamon, stack on the apple pieces and cover with 3 tablespoons of paste, diluted with a little water.
Put the cake form in a cold oven, turn it up on medium heat and cook until ready. Sprinkle the finished cake with powdered sugar.
Comments
You mention 1 sachet of cinnamon. What would be the equivalent in teaspoons or dessertspoons - as it doesn't come in sachets where I live?
