How to make
In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water with 2 pinches of sugar. Once the yeast activates, gradually add all the other products for the dough and knead a smooth dough that is not sticky.
Leave it in a warm place to rise until doubled in volume. Then divide the dough into 4 equal parts and roll out each into a sheet with a thickness of about 1/8″ (4 mm).
Cut the sheets like you would a cake. At the base of the resulting triangles put some Turkish delight and carefully roll tight rolls so that the filling does not leak out during baking.
Arrange the rolls in a baking dish with baking paper or greased with oil. Brush them with beaten egg yolk with a little oil and optionally sprinkle with sesame, poppy seeds or just sugar.
Put them to bake in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven until golden brown and swollen well. Arrange the ready homemade granny scones in a bowl and briefly smother with a towel.
You can also make them with a filling of thick jam or marmalade or with cheese/feta cheese, even sausage.
