avocado soup

When talking about American cuisine, many of us identify it only with the ever popular McDonald's, KFC or fast food in general.

But this is not all there is to it, rather it is a mix of the culinary preferences of its settlers, who have come from different parts of the world and combined their own traditions with whatever the New World had to offer.

That is why American cuisine is ever-changing and why you'll find dishes in some parts of the US that are not characteristic of others. Here, we'll present you 3 of the most popular soups made by Americans:

Avocado Soup

Ingredients: 3 avocados, juice of 1 lemon, 1 cup cream, 2 cups vegetable broth, 2 tomatoes, 1 tbsp mustard, 1 bunch green onions, salt to taste.

lemon soup

Preparation: Remove the seeds of the avocados, beat 2 of the fruits with a mixer with the lemon juice, mustard, broth and half the cream. Season with salt.

Separately, dice the remaining avocado and the tomatoes, grind the onions. In bowls that have been cooled ahead of time, put the chopped ingredients and onions, pour on the cream-soup on top. Put the remaining cream at the very top.

Cream of Lemon Soup

Ingredients: juice of 2 lemons, 1 cup cream, 2 cups beef broth, 3 egg yolks, salt and black pepper to taste, several bunches of parsley.

Preparation: Carefully add the cream to the warmed beef broth, whip the egg yolks with 2 tbsp of lemon juice. Add them to the broth along with the lemon juice and stir everything well. Season with salt and black pepper. Also season each serving of cream soup with finely chopped parsley.

Corn Soup

Corn soup

Ingredients: 4 slices of bacon, 2 1/5 cups frozen corn, 1 stick of celery, 1 diced red pepper, 1 chopped onion head, 2 chopped carrots, 2 cups beef broth, oil for frying, salt and black pepper to taste.

Preparation: Braise the bacon and vegetables subsequently, excluding the corn. Cook the corn in the boiling broth until softened, then drain and puree it. To this broth add the braised vegetables, season with salt and black pepper and once everything is ready, place the braised bacon on top.
