When we mention the concept of stuffed carp, we usually make 2 mistakes. First, we immediately think it's St. Nicholas Day and then the image of classic stuffed carp pops into our head, usually with rice and spices.
In both cases, we may be wrong, because it is not at all imperative that we prepare this fish only on St. Nicholas Day, nor does anyone oblige us to follow the traditions and necessarily stuff the carp with rice.
Let's diversify the table a little and improvise with another type of stuffing, which also makes an excellent delicious stuffed carp. And whether you will wait until St. Nicholas Day to prepare it is your personal choice.
1. Carp stuffed with white cheese
The combination of fish and cheese may seem ridiculous to you, but this carp stuffing is very well known to all fishermen, because it is cheese that would remove the toxins from the carp - a fish that thrives mostly in murky waters. You can add walnuts, a few sliced olives and spices like dill and parsley to the cheese.
2. Carp stuffed with vegetables
This recipe is probably familiar to you, but since an extremely tasty fish dish is obtained, we cannot skip to mention it.
Fry 1 finely chopped carrot and about 3-4 finely chopped onions in a pan. When the vegetables soften, add a handful of ground walnuts and a handful of raisins. Season with salt and black pepper and fill the carp with this stuffing. Enjoy with this wonderful carp stuffing idea!
3. Carp stuffed with canned beans
Do you find it strange to combine fish and beans? Do you remember what our favorite Canned Ropotamo are made of? Yes, fish and beans to be exact.
For this recipe, in addition to a can of beans, you will need 1-2 leeks, 1 carrot and 1-2 dried peppers. Grate or finely chop the carrot and along with the finely chopped leeks and peppers, fry in a little oil, then stew them.
When the vegetables soften, add canned beans to them, season according to taste and stuff the carp with this mixture.
Due to the presence of dry peppers and leeks in the recipe, it is assumed that the carp will be prepared in autumn or winter, but it does not have to be exactly on December 6th (Christmas Day).
In addition to the recipes described above, we have collected hundreds of tested carp recipes that we recommend you try, which are:
- carp soup;
- breaded carp;
- grilled carp;
