Quince juice

Quinces are very good for the heart, although many people don't know it. This tasty and aromatic fruit is suitable not only for the preparation of compotes and jam, but also for the preparation of a healthy juice, which improves the functions of the cardiovascular system.

Quinces contain many useful substances for the body - potassium, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, selenium and copper. Quinces contain a very large amount of vitamin C - more than lemons. In addition, quinces contain other vitamins - vitamin B1, B2, B3, B5, B6.

Quinces contain many flavonoids, which have a healing effect on the way the heart works. They also reduce the fragility of capillaries and protect blood vessels from atherosclerotic plaques, which has a good effect on the cardiovascular and circulatory systems.

Quince juice is prepared only from well-ripened fruit with a bright yellow color. If you picked them from the tree or bought green fruit, you need to wait from 1 week to 2 months for them to fully ripen. Thus, the tannins in them will decrease and the fruit sugar content will increase.

Quinces

After the quinces are fully ripe, they are peeled and the dark and bruised areas are cut out. The fruit are grated and squeezed, until all the juice flows out. You can make quince jam from the grated fruit. Quince juice is heated over a slow fire to 80°C and immediately strained through 4 layers of cheesecloth.

Reheat it to 180°F (80°C), pour it into bottles, close them tightly and sterilize for 10 minutes. You can skip sterilizing it, it if you are going to use it right away - in that case, store it in the refrigerator and warm it up before drinking.

Half a glass a day is drunk from the tasty and healthy quince juice sweetened with honey. In winter, it is very important for the health and in addition to taking care of the heart, it strengthens immunity and fights colds. And if you already have a cold, add the quince core to the juice and boil it for 2 minutes. Strain and drink two teaspoons every two hours.
