What is Plombir and How is it Prepared?

Plombir is Russian ice cream. The technology of its production was brought from France, but in fact it became most popular in Russia.

It appeared in the middle of the 18th century and was on the menu of royal people.

It is considered the best because it has a very rich taste and is completely devoid of ice.

Also, plombir is high in calories, but it won't harm your figure if you don't overdo it.

On hot summer days, when you feel like eating something cooling and tasty, you can easily make plombir.

For its preparation you need 2 cups of sugar, 1 liter of fresh milk, 100 g of butter, 1 tsp. starch and 5 yolks.

Preparation of plombir:

Heat the milk and butter in a saucepan. When the mixture boils, remove it from the heat. In a separate bowl, mix the sugar, starch, egg yolks and mix until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

Add some of the milk and mix. Pour the resulting mixture in a thin stream into the boiling milk while stirring continuously.

Put it on the stove on a low heat and let it boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and place in a bowl of ice cold water and stir until the mixture is slightly warm.

Then remove it from the pot of water and let it cool completely, stirring it from time to time.

Divide the mixture into bowls and leave the dairy ice cream in the fridge to set.

When set, move the plombir to the freezer for about 3 hours.

Your plombir ice cream is ready.
