Lavash is flat unleavened bread. Its origin is old, and it is prepared from flour, salt and water.
Everyone can make lavash at home. With it you can prepare sandwiches, filo pastries, doners, tacos and others. You can always improvise in your kitchen.
Here are the necessary products for this type of bread:
200 ml of lukewarm water, 2 tbsp. oil or olive oil, 1 tsp. salt and 400 g of flour.
Preparation of lavash:
Stir a spoonful of salt into a glass of lukewarm water until it dissolves. Add oil or olive oil - whatever you have on hand, and pour in a little of the flour. Mix into a thick mixture, then pour it onto a worktop sprinkled with a little flour and the dough is kneaded.
The dough should not be sticky, it should be elastic. Cover it with a towel and let it rest for 15-20 minutes. Divide it into 10-12 equal parts. Roll out thin round crusts, about 1 mm thick, on a floured surface.
A pan is heated, for me from 6 degrees, on the 3rd is best. Bake the lavash on both sides until it turns golden, it happens very quickly.
The ready lavash flatbread should be put in a towel, covered until we bake all of them. You can serve with chicken, salad, pate and whatever you want, the choice is big.
This type of bread has many uses in cooking. Here's an idea from me too. You need 3-4 pcs. of lavash.
Fry 1 onion with 250 g of minced meat seasoned with spices, salt, cumin and black pepper. The finished flatbread are smeared with minced meat and rolled up into rolls.
They are arranged in a baking pan greased with a little oil.
A topping is prepared from beaten 2-3 eggs, cream 60 g, 1 spoon mayonnaise, chopped dill.
The lavash rolls are filled and sprinkled with cheese on top.
Bake in a heated oven until they turn golden.
Cut them diagonally and serve.
You can improvise with the stuffing, be it with chicken pieces, pork or turkey.
You can also add vegetables of your choice. Enjoy your meal!
