How to Make Spaghetti Sauce with Fresh Tomatoes?

Tomato and Basil Sauce is classic and traditional, typical of Mediterranean cuisine. It is prepared with fresh tomatoes, carrots, onions, celery and basil.

A cheap, tasty and concentrated sauce, ideal for seasoning any main dish from fish, to meat, homemade pizza or starters. However, this creamy and vegan sauce has been used since ancient times to season pasta!

Spaghetti with tomato sauce is one of the favorite dishes for young and old. Fresh tomato and basil sauce is very easy to prepare. With a vegetable grinder you can get the right texture and you will remove all the tomato skins (this step really affects the quality of the sauce). You can also remove the seeds and skins from the tomatoes yourself and blend them.

It's impossible to resist a sauce with these flavors and aromas. It's the perfect tomato sauce for the whole family.

You can keep in the tomato sauce in a jar or freeze in the freezer to have on your table for the summer or all year long.

Products required:

fresh tomatoes - 1 kg, ripe

carrots - 100 g

celery - 100 g

onion - 80 g

olive oil - 20 ml extra virgin

salt - 10 g

fresh basil - 5 leaves

Method of preparation:

Wash and peel the carrots, onions and celery. Wash the tomatoes and split them in half with a knife, also remove all the seeds inside as well as the skins.

In a tall pot put all the coarsely chopped vegetables, spices, olive oil and fresh basil. Cover it with a lid, stir and leave them to stew. Let the tomato spaghetti sauce cook on low heat for about an hour. Then blend it. Store it for up to 5 days in the refrigerator or for a longer period of time in the freezer.
