What is Caffe Latte?

Coffee is a fetish for people all over the world and undoubtedly one of the most popular drinks in human history. The origin of the name coffee is disputed, with the most popular belief being, that it translates to strength and energy.

The magic of coffee is due to the riches of nature discovered in ancient times. According to legend, the fruit of the plant were discovered by a shepherd in the 9th century. While grazing his goats, he observed that they gained energy after eating the fruit of the plant. This way, from ancient times to the present, coffee has been increasing in popularity as a strength-giving drink.

Among the most common varieties of coffee is caffe latte.

What is a latte

Caffe latte has often been compared to cappuccino, because they are similar in preparation method. The latte is prepared with espresso coffee and milk without foam.

The Classic Caffe Latte recipe calls for a 3:1 ratio of milk to coffee. It is generally accepted that the amount of espresso should be 30 ml and 90 ml of milk respectively.

The difference with the cappuccino is that with it the ratio of the amounts between espresso, milk and foam is completely equal.

To recognize a good latte, it is enough to have a look at amount of foam. Unlike the thick foam of the cappuccino, the foam of the latte should be quite light and delicate.

A popular trend is to serve lattes with drawings on the foam, which are drawn by the baristas.
