What is a latte
Caffe latte has often been compared to cappuccino, because they are similar in preparation method. The latte is prepared with espresso coffee and milk without foam.
The Classic Caffe Latte recipe calls for a 3:1 ratio of milk to coffee. It is generally accepted that the amount of espresso should be 30 ml and 90 ml of milk respectively.
The difference with the cappuccino is that with it the ratio of the amounts between espresso, milk and foam is completely equal.
To recognize a good latte, it is enough to have a look at amount of foam. Unlike the thick foam of the cappuccino, the foam of the latte should be quite light and delicate.
