Cappuccino is an Italian soft drink made from coffee and milk.
Real cappuccino, according to experts, should contain 1 2/3 tbsp (25 ml.) Espresso and 1/2 cup (125 ml.) Cold milk broken with steam, wherein from 40°F (4 °C), it was heated up to 130°F (55 °C). The milk should be fresh, cow, contain more than 3.2% protein and about 3.5% fat.
For a cappuccino milk is foamed in a dish of stainless steel in order to avoid any impurities of other fragrances and flavors. Cappuccino foam should be white and surround the periphery of the coffee board - neither thin nor too wide. The density must be uniform and there is no separation of the liquid. There should be no voids or bubbles. The perfect cup serving has a capacity of 150-160 ml.
Many people confuse milk coffee with cappuccino. Actually cooking is an art and this – a delight. The true and original recipe of preparation is kept at the National Institute of espresso in Milan.
The main elements of good cappuccino are meeting clearly identified components. It also requires a high quality machine and the presence of a capable bartender. To make a real cappuccino are also needed love, passion and technique by preparing.
Products Required: 2 tsp (10 g) cinnamon for sprinkling, 2 cinnamon sticks for decoration, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 cup milk, 1 cup espresso.
Method of preparation: Hot espresso coffee is poured into a large beaker, so as to occupy only one fourth of it. If you want it to be more sweet, add a teaspoon of sugar. Heat half of the milk and pour it into the coffee. Mix well.
The remainder of the milk is heated in an espresso machine, while forming a very dense foam and becoming creamy. This cream is poured on the coffee. On top, sprinkle with a little cinnamon. Optionally, decorate with cinnamon sticks.
Drink immediately, before it the foam falls.
Variants: Milk can be replaced with cream. This way, however, cappuccino will be a little harder. Instead of cinnamon, you can sprinkle cocoa or vanilla.
