Porcini mushrooms are one of the most healthy wild mushrooms and have extremely useful properties, which can be preserved even when frozen for about 6-12 months.
In order to freeze porcini mushrooms it is necessary to first clean the mushrooms very well. For this purpose, they are washed very well under running lukewarm water and are cut into the desired shape.
They are placed in several packages. This is recommended - to place a sufficient amount of mushrooms for one use. This is how we perform one of the most important steps for freezing porcini mushrooms - to freeze them gradually in small quantities.
Optionally, before freezing, you can blanch the porcini mushrooms. To do this, you need to wash them very well and blanch them by putting them in boiling water for about 5 minutes without added salt.
They are then bagged and frozen.
When defrosting these healthy mushrooms, it is very important to know, that it also happens in stages. After removing them from the freezer, it is recommended to place them in the refrigerator overnight and then at room temperature.
