If you want to impress the guests you have invited to dinner, there is no better choice than high-quality roasted beef tenderloin. This beef is tender and juicy. It is also easy to cook in the oven or on the grill.
Roasted beef tenderloin is best served slightly raw. This meat is so lean and otherwise it can become dry and lose its flavor, if it is overcooked.
How long is beef tenderloin roasted for?
Cooking this meat in the oven is easy. Make sure your meat is completely defrosted. If it is frozen, defrost it in the refrigerator one day before cooking it.
Make sure the meat is at room temperature before cooking it. Remove your meat from the refrigerator at least an hour (but not more than two hours) before roasting.
Rub the beef tenderloin with softened butter and season it well with spices of your choice. Leave it for 30 minutes. An excellent choice is coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper. Classic!
Preheat the oven to 390°F (200°C).
Place the meat in a roasting bag (or wrap it in foil) in a baking pan onto a wire rack in the oven. Do not add water or cover the meat.
Reduce the oven temperature to 320°F (160°C) and roast it for about 60 minutes (the meat should reach 150°F (64°C) inside. Half an hour after placing in the oven, if you have a thermometer, check the temperature every 10 minutes).
Remember, that your meat will continue to cook even after you take it out of the oven.
Remove it from the oven when it's ready and transfer the roasted meat onto a wooden board, without removing it from the baking bag. Leave it to rest for 15-20 minutes, before taking it out and cutting it.
Prepare a suitable sauce for the meat.
