How to make
Beat the egg yolks with the flour, add 6 tablespoons sugar and melted butter. Add a bit of nutmeg and grated lemon rind. Knead the dough firmly, you need to roll it out very thin.
Cut circles in it with a diameter of 4″ (10 cm) for the filling.
Beat the egg whites with 1 2/5 cups (350 g) of sugar and add chopped nuts and the remaining nutmeg, as well as the lemon peel.
Put the stuffing on the dough circles and pinch the edges.
Arrange the Croatian cookies with nuts in a pan with baking paper and bake at 390°F (200 °C) for about 20 minutes.
