"Today we`ve got a bit of a different - but still very tasty - recipe for baklava that you can prepare in just 45 min."

Ingredients

  • phyllo pastry - 1 packet, thin, sheets
  • biscuits - 1 pack
  • walnuts - 4/5 cup (200 g) ground + 2/5 cup (100 g) crushed
  • butter - 1/2 cup (125 g)
  • oil - 4/5 cup (200 g)
  • syrup
  • sugar - 3 cups (700 g)
  • water - 4/5 cup (200 g)
  • vanilla - 1

How to make

Set aside 2/5 cup (100 g) crushed walnuts for sprinkling at the end. Mash together the other walnuts and the biscuits.

Sprinkle this biscuit/walnut mixture over the sheets. Wrap into a roll, cut into pieces and arrange them upright in the tray.

Pour the melted butter and oil over them.

Bake at 360°F (180 °C) until golden. Once cooled, pour the hot syrup over it and sprinkle with the remaining walnuts.
