Set aside 2/5 cup (100 g) crushed walnuts for sprinkling at the end. Mash together the other walnuts and the biscuits.

Be sure to add citric acid or lemon the syrup, so that the baklava doesn't get caramelized....

Boil the syrup in a pot and while it's still hot, pour it over the baklava.
Optionally, you can add 4-5 cloves while stacking the baklava....

Pour the hot syrup over the cold baklava, cover with a towel and let it sit for at least 12 hours....

Cut the baked baklava into small pieces and leave to cool completely.
Pour the cooled syrup evenly over the cooled baklava using a ladle....
