"We`ve prepared a marvelous phyllo pastry with a juicy filling and topping for you, made following a top recipe."

Ingredients

  • phyllo pastry - 17.5 oz (500 g) sheets
  • eggs - 4
  • feta cheese - 14 oz (400 g)
  • yoghurt - 2/3 cup (150 g)
  • oil - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 ml)
  • baking powder - 1 packet
  • topping
  • eggs - 1
  • milk - 1 2/5 cups (350 ml)
  • flour - 2 tablespoons

  • butter - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 g) melted

How to make

Put the eggs in a bowl and beat them, add the crumbled feta cheese and oil. Put the baking powder in the yoghurt and stir, add it to the bowl as well.

Lay out the phyllo pastry sheets on the table, smear 1 sheet with butter, place a 2nd sheet on top, smear with butter again, place a 3rd, smear again and finally place the 4th.

Sprinkle the filling on evenly and wrap into a roll along the length of the sheets. Cut the roll into pieces about 2″ (5 cm) thick and arrange them in a tray covered with baking paper, arranging them upright like stumps. Repeat this process with the rest of the sheets.

Make the topping by mixing the egg with flour and milk. Cover each stump with this mixture using a spoon to drip it on to each. If there's any topping left over at the end, distribute it on top everywhere.

Bake in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven about 50 min. or to a nice golden color.
