  • garlic - 5 cloves
  • dill - 1 bunch
  • marinade
  • vinegar - 1 2/5 cups (350 ml)
  • sea salt - 3 tbsp
  • honey - 2 tbsp
  • sugar - 6 tbsp
  • oil - 2/3 cup (150 ml) for frying
measures

How to make

I made my last batch of banana peppers with a honey marinade. Cut off the long stems of the peppers and stick them on a knife or wooden skewer.

Put 7-8 banana peppers to fry at a time in a pot with heated oil, from both sides. Be careful not to get burned because the oil sprays. Flip them over with a slotted spoon and take them out into a wide tray.

Heat the vinegar, salt, honey and sugar in a casserole. Stir until the salt, honey and sugar melt - taste it and see if the marinade is to your liking. If not, add whatever's needed. Take it off the stove. Chop the dill and garlic cloves finely.

Sprinkle them over the peppers and pour on part of the marinade. Leave it for 5 min. while you prepare 2 jars with twist-on caps. Fill the jars with peppers and pour on honey marinade using a spoon up to the rim.

Close the jars with caps and turn upside down until completely cooled. Arrange them on a shelf and wait for winter so you can have Fried Peppers with Honey Marinade!
