Ingredients

  • mince - 2 lb (1 kg), mix, 60% beef, 40% pork
  • bacon - 7 oz (200 g)
  • onions - 1 head, finely chopped
  • garlic - 2 - 3 cloves, grated
  • milk - 2/5 cup (100 ml)
  • bread - 2 slices, old
  • thyme - 1 1/2 tsp
  • oregano - 1 tsp
  • mustard - 1 1/2 tsp
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • for the glaze
  • mustard - 1 1/2 tsp
  • paprika - 1 tsp
  • olive oil - 1 tbsp
  • beer - 1 tbsp

How to make

Dice the bacon finely and braise it in a little oil. Add the onions and garlic. After 5-6 min., remove from the heat.

Soak the bread in the milk and drain it. Put the mince in a bowl. To it add the onions and garlic, bread, spices and mustard.

Knead well and form a large egg-shaped meatball. Put it in an oven dish laid out with baking paper. Smear it with the glaze and bake for 1 hour at 360°F (180 °C).

Serve with a garnish of your choice.
