"Any idea how cold the beer needs to be for these Spicy Mexican Beans? Just asking, for a friend, of course."

Ingredients

  • beans - 1 2/3 cups (400 g) (1 can), boiled
  • onions - 1 head
  • garlic - 2 cloves
  • celery - 1 sprig
  • chili peppers - 2
  • carrots - 1
  • olive oil - 3 tablespoons
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • tomato paste - 1 tsp
  • water - 2/5 cup (100 ml)
  • paprika - smoked
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • chili pepper - dry
  • chili - sauce or jalapeno sauce

How to make

Chop the onion and stew it in olive oil until golden. Add the chopped chili peppers and garlic, along with the salt, black pepper and dry chili.

Stew for 30 seconds, then add the carrot, hot sauce and beans. In a separate bowl, mix the tomato paste with the sugar and water. Together with the chopped celery and smoked paprika, add these to the dish with the other products.

Cook everything on medium heat until the almost all of water evaporates and the sauce becomes thick. Garnish with celery leaves and a cold beer.
