Ingredients

  • butter - 2/5 cup (100 g)
  • eggs - 4
  • sugar - 2/3 cup (150 g)
  • lemons - 1
  • flour - 1 cup (250 g)
  • milk - 1/2 cup (125 ml)
  • baking powder - 1 packet
  • fruits - by choice
  • powdered sugar - for sprinkling
  • vanilla

How to make

Beat the softened butter with the sugar and add the eggs 1 by 1 while beating nonstop. Be careful for the butter not to curdle - it and the eggs need to be at the same temperature.

After each egg, pour in a little flour and milk. Then add the lemon juice, baking powder and flavor with vanilla.

Pour the mixture into an oiled and lightly floured form and arrange fruits of your choice on top (apples, quinces, pears...). Put it to bake in a preheated 340°F (170 °C) for as long as it takes.

Once the fruitcake is ready, take it out, cool a bit and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
