How to make
In a bowl, mix the milk, sugar, yeast and 1 tsp. of flour. Stir, cover with something and set aside for 5 minutes.
Sift 250 grams of flour into a bowl and add the salt. Beat the yogurt with the egg and oil. Add this mixture to the flour, then the activated yeast.
Knead the dough, by gradually adding a little more flour. Cover the dough and let it rise for 30-40 minutes. For faster rising, place the bowl in a container with hot water.
Knead the risen dough and divide it into 6 pieces. Cover them with a towel so that they do not acquire a crust while you roll them out. Let the loaves rest for 5 minutes and then start rolling them out.
Make the filling by mashing the white cheese with the egg. Roll out the loaves into a rectangle. At the narrow end, add the filling lengthwise and fold it. I tried with less and more white cheese. The ones with more cheese definitely turned out better.
Press with your fingers to distribute it evenly. Then start rolling it into a roll. Finally, stretch the roll slightly with your hands.
Then cut it through the middle almost to the end, but leave the two ends connected. Then roll it into a snail with the filling inwards. Leave the snails rise in a warm place (wrapped) for about 20 minutes. You can place them in the oven at 30°C for 10 minutes.
Beat the yolk with the oil and spread the snails with this mixture before baking.
The air fryer is heated on the bake program - 360°F (180°C). A barbecue mat is placed on the wire rack. When the appliance heats up, take a piece of cold butter and brush the mat. Arrange the snails. Bake at 165°C without turning. Air Fryer Cheesy Snails are wonderful.
You can bake them in a preheated oven with a fan at 360°F (180°C) for 20-25 minutes.
