How to make
Soak the beans from the night before in clean cold water. The next day, replace the water with a fresh one, add a spoonful of soda and when the water boils, replace it again.
Pour the oil into the new water and let the beans boil.
Cut the pork shank into small pieces and fry them in heated fat. Remove the meat from the pan and pour the chopped pepper, carrot, celery and onion into the same fat.
When the vegetables are fried, pour them into the boiling beans along with the fried pork.
Stir and season with paprika and dried chili (optional). When the beans are almost completely cooked, add the ground tomatoes, thyme, savory herb, spearmint and salt.
Cook for another 10 minutes and remove the bean soup from the heat.
The white bean soup with pork shank is very tasty.
