How to make
Drying figs happens in one of two ways – out in the sun or in an oven (or furnace). Arrange the cleaned figs whole on a lattice frame, covered with a paper or fabric and put it in the sun. When there is no sunlight, bring them inside and then bring them out the next day.
To oven dry the figs, arrange them in a tray and put on low heat, about 190°F (85 °C) (you need to be able to hold your hand inside without a problem). Open the oven regularly to turn the figs over.
The duration of drying depends on the size of the fruits. Store the dried figs in bags made of natural materials, in a dark and cool place.
