How to cook
Clean the onion and stick the cloves into it. Put the milk in a container on the stove with the onions and boil for 30 minutes, add the nutmeg.
Crumb the bread well and add it to the sauce along with the black pepper, half the butter and salt to taste. Stir with a whisk and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring continuously.
Remove the onion and add the remaining butter and cream. Stir and season with salt to taste. If you want a thicker sauce, thicken it with 1 tablespoon of flour, diluted in a little water.
