Classic recipe for a wonderful beer appetizer that no one can resist.
I prepare the recipe with cooked and smoked bacon.
Start by cutting the cheese into thick sticks.
Dip them in flour, egg, flour again and egg again - so on until you get a thick coating - breading.
Fry them in hot oil until golden brown and remove and place them onto kitchen paper to absorb the excess fat.
Wrap each cheese in a thin strip of bacon and prick them with a toothpick.
If desired, you can put them in a 480°F (250°C) oven for a short time, just enough to slightly cook the bacon, but do not keep it in the oven for long, so that the cheese does not become runny.
