How to make
Place the water, tangerine juice and peel, butter, vanilla, ouzo, sugar and a pinch of salt in a saucepan over medium-high heat. As soon as the butter and sugar melt and the liquid boils, reduce the heat, remove the tangerine peels and pour in all the flour at once. Stir vigorously until a nice dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the pot;
Remove it from the heat and leave it to cool;
Add the eggs one by one with intense mixing until the dough completely absorbs the first egg, do not add the second;
After you have formed a homogeneous dough, heat the oil on medium heat and using a piping bag, pipe out the donuts at a distance from each other. I made them with a piping bag, by making a circle with a hole in the middle, but you can also use two spoons, by scooping from the dough with one and pushing with the other - they will be in irregular shapes, but it doesn't matter, the taste is important;
Fry until golden brown on both sides and remove and place them on paper to absorb the excess fat;
Sprinkle the donuts with powdered sugar and eat them on their own or in the company of yogurt and a jam of your choice. If you like the sweet-salty contrast, you can also eat them with white cheese. They melt in your mouth!
