  • flour - 9 oz (250 g) white refined
  • wheat bran - 1.6 oz (45 g)
  • oat bran - 1.6 oz (45 g) or oats
  • nuts - 2.5 oz (70 g) mix of hazelnuts, walnuts and almonds
  • fresh yeast - 0.5 oz (15 g)
  • chia - 1 tbsp. seeds
  • olive oil - 1 tbsp. + for greasing the hands
  • water - about 6.1 fl oz (180 ml)
  • honey - 1 tsp. liquid

Most people think that fiber-enriched bread and whole grain are the same product. This is not quite the case, because in their composition and qualities they differ.

Whole wheat bread is made from whole unrefined grains (wheat or other) ground into flour. This makes it harder and with a thicker crust, but incredibly healthy.

Fiber bread contains white refined flour to which wheat bran is added mostly, known for its extreme richness in fiber. In addition, such a bread can be enriched with other types of bran, nuts and seeds. Unlike whole grain, the one with fiber becomes softer and fluffier, as well as much tastier.

Such bread is healthy for people with impaired metabolism, high cholesterol and gastrointestinal disorders.

Here is the recipe for one version of such easy and delicious bread:

The two types of bran together with the seeds and nuts are grinded and mixed with the refined white flour and salt.

The yeast is dissolved in the water with honey and olive oil.

The dry mixture is poured into a bowl and a well is made in the middle, into which the liquid mixture is poured.

Knead to a smooth medium soft dough, by adding liquid or flour until the desired result is achieved.

Form an oblong bread and place it in a greased rectangular cake tin with a capacity of 1-1.5 l. Let it rise in a warm place for about an hour or until it doubles in volume.

The bread with fiber is baked in a preheated oven at 360°F (180°C) for about 30 minutes or until it acquires a golden crust.

Cool it on a wire rack and cut it into slices.
