How to make
Smaller pears are used for this delicious strudel with pears, walnuts and cinnamon.
The walnuts and biscuits are finely crushed.
The pears are cleaned from the stems and seeds and are cut or grated. I used a chopper for the walnuts, biscuits and pears, by grinding the biscuits and walnuts first and after transferring them into a bowl, I grinded the pears in the chopper. This saves a lot of time.
Butter and oil are mixed by heating on the stove in a suitable container.
Preheat the oven to 360°F (180°C) with the fan on.
Each filo pastry sheet is spread out, it is smeared with the butter mixture and at one end put 3 tbsp. of the pears, sprinkle with 1/2 tsp. cinnamon or according to your taste, 1 tbsp. brown sugar, crushed walnuts and biscuits.
The filo pastry sheet is wrapped in a roll and transferred into a tray lined with baking paper, which has been lightly greased beforehand. The same is done with the rest of the sheets.
Brush the sheets with butter and oil on top and transfer the tray with the strudel into the middle of a preheated oven.
Bake it, until it is ready (25-30 minutes depending on the oven) and aquires a golden crust.
While still warm, the aromatic strudel is sprinkled with powdered sugar mixed with vanilla powder. After it cools, it is cut and it is served.
Enjoy!
