Ingredients

  • pork steaks - 1.1 lb (500 g) boneless neck steaks
  • gyros flatbread - 6 pcs.
  • onion - 1 large onion
  • olive oil - 5 tbsp.
  • honey - 1 tbsp.
  • apple cider vinegar - 1 tbsp.
  • salt - by taste
  • seasoning for gyros - mix of oregano, garlic and onion powder, parsley, thyme, paprika, black pepper
  • for serving
  • tomatoes - chopped
  • french fries
  • sauces - optional

How to make

Prepare the meat marinade by mixing the spices with the olive oil, honey, vinegar and salt.

Cut the onion into thin crescents. Roll one of the steaks well in the marinade and place it on foil.

Place the onion crescents on it. Add another marinated steak and then onions on top. Finish off with a steak.

Wrap the meat well in the foil and leave it in the refrigerator for a few hours.

When ready, bake the meat in a heated oven in the foil for about 1 hour at 390°F (200°C).

Remove the meat from the oven and leave it for 10 minutes. Cut it into thin and long pieces. Arrange the meat and onion on the flatbread, add fries and sliced tomatoes.

If desired, drizzle with a sauce of your choice.

Wrap the gyros flatbread with the filling and serve.

The Greek Gyros is ready.
