  • sauerkraut - 1 pc. (small)
  • warm water - 2 cups
  • oil - 2/5 cup (100 ml)
  • ground black pepper - by taste
  • paprika - 1 tsp. (slightly spicy)
  • white rice - 1 cup (coarse - grained)
  • onion - 1 small onion

How to make

Use a small sauerkraut. Cut the sauerkraut in two halves and then again in the middle, in order to make it easier to cut afterwards.

Cut the sauerkraut into strips (not very long). Put them in a bowl.

In a large pot on the stove, put the oil to heat up. Finely chop a small onion into very small pieces, but it must have been cleaned in advance.

Stew the onion in the oil. Wash and clean the rice. I used white coarse rice. Add the rice inside as well and stir. It must become transparent.

Add the chopped sauerkraut inside and stir. Add as much black pepper as you like. Add the paprika and mix everything very well.

Pour the hot water towards the end. Stir. Cover the dish and reduce the heat and leave the food to simmer.

When the meal is ready, pour it into a plate while it's hot and eat it with bread or rusks.

The sauerkraut with rice in a pot is very tasty.
