Ingredients

  • sauerkraut leaves - 10 leaves cleaned of the hard part
  • ground turkey - 0.9 lb (400 g)
  • white rice - 1/2 cup
  • savory herb
  • paprika
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • dried red pepper
  • oil
  • For the sauce
  • yogurt - 1/2 cup
  • flour - 2 level top tbsp.
  • water or broth - for dilution
  • smoked paprika - for sprinkling

How to make

Boil the rice, until it's cooked and strain it. Add it to the minced meat along with the spices and the crushed dried red pepper and a little oil. Knead well and if possible, leave it for at least 30 minutes.

Arrange the sauerkraut leaves on a board covered with foil, which is greased in advance on the upper side, by overlapping them slightly.

Pour the stuffing on one side lengthwise and roll it up.

Transfer it into a baking pan and spread the savory roll with oil on top as well. Pour a little water into the baking pan, cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 30-40 minutes.

Then remove the foil and add the flour to the liquid, which has been diluted with yogurt in the baking pan.

Dilute with water or broth, season with salt and paprika and leave it for another ten minutes, until the roll is baked and the sauce obtains the required thickness.

Serve the turkey roll with sauerkraut and rice in pieces along with the sauce and sprinkle it with smoked paprika.
