Ingredients

  • pork shoulder - 1.5 lb (700 g)
  • onions - 1 pc.
  • white wine - 1 cup (200 ml)
  • water - 2 - 3 tbsp
  • paprika - 2 tsp
  • black pepper
  • allspice - 2 - 3 grains
  • bay leaves - 2 - 3 pcs.
  • tomato paste - 3 - 4 tbsp
  • sugar - 2 tbsp
  • olive oil
  • salt - to taste

How to make

Chop the onion and saute with a drizzle of olive oil.

Rinse the meat, pat dry, cut it into small chunks, season with salt and pepper, and toss it into the pot with the sauteed onion. Sear the meat, and add the wine and water, making sure the liquids cover the meat.

Cook for about 10-15 minutes at moderate heat, stirring occasionally. Add the herbs and spices.

Incorporate the sugar into the tomato paste and add it, as well.

Mix the flour with a little cold water, adjust the flour quantity depending on the sauce consistency of your preference.

Add a little more water and keep cooking for 10 minutes.

You can serve this pork stew with a bowl of rice.
