How to make
To prepare this irresistible apple pie, first peel and slice the apples. Pour them into a small pot, add 3 tbsp. of sugar and 3 tbsp. of lemon juice to them.
Leave them on the stove to soften. Once this happens, season with cinnamon and pour the apples in a colander over a suitable container, in which the liquid can drain.
You will need it to spread the apple pie.
Sift the flour, baking powder and salt. Add the yolk, egg, sugar and cold butter to the mixture, which you have cut into pieces. Last but not least, add the lemon peel for flavor.
Knead the pie dough - smooth and soft. Refrigerate it for an hour or two. This will contribute to the crunchiness of the pie.
Set aside a portion of the dough (fist-sized). Roll out the rest onto a floured surface or baking paper. A round shape with a diameter of 11″ (28 cm) must be obtained.
To bake the delicious pie you will need a 9.4″ (24 cm) tray with high walls. Put the dough inside, flatten it out as well as on the walls. Pierce it in several places with a fork.
Pour the pie filling evenly. Roll out the other part of the dough into a thin crust and place it on top. Use a knife to make not very deep cuts. Fold the dough.
Brush the pie with the separated apple sauce using a brush.
Bake the apple pie with a rich filling, until it aquires a golden brown color in a preheated oven at 360°F (180°C). Cool it and then cut it into pieces.
