How to make
My favorite time of the year has come and that is the perfect time for making aromatic sweets and Christmas cookies. This is one of my favorite recipes for American cocoa cookies and I will share it with you.
Leave the butter to soften at room temperature in advance.
Once the butter has softened enough, pour it into a bowl and add the sugar. Using a spatula, mix until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
Beat the eggs well and add them to the mixture of butter and sugar. Stir.
Sift the flour, baking powder and cocoa into a bowl, then gradually add them to the liquid mixture. Sprinkle a few drops of rum and vanilla essence (according to taste).
A thick and sticky mixture should be obtained.
Finally, break the chocolate into small pieces and add it.
Line a large flat baking tray with parchment paper.
Using a wet spoon, form balls as best as possible and arrange them in the tray.
Decorate the American cookies with chocolate drops.
Preheat the oven to 360°F (180 degrees) and bake them for 10-15 minutes.
Then reduce it to 320°F (160 degrees) and bake them for another 5 minutes.
Take them out and place them on a wire rack and leave them to cool.
What you get are very fragrant and crunchy cookies. Enjoy!
