Ingredients

  • honey - 4/5 cup (200 g)
  • powdered sugar - 4/5 cup (200 g)
  • tea - 1 cup, strong
  • flour - 3 cups
  • oil - 3 tablespoons
  • walnuts - 1 cup, coarsely chopped
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • cloves - 1 - 2 crushed grains
  • oranges - orange or lemon zest

How to make

Boil your chosen tea, strain it and put tiny strips of half an orange rind to boil in it. Drain and leave it to cool. Dilute the honey in the tea in a porcelain dish.

Add the sugar, baking soda, orange zest, walnuts, cinnamon, cloves and flour. Put the mixture into a greased cake form. Put it to bake in a moderately heated oven for a time, and during baking, cover it with foil so the top doesn't burn.

Serve the cake with powdered sugar if desired.
