How to make

Finely chop the white part of the leek and crush the garlic.

Cut the cabbage leaves, without the thick part, into small leaves.

Boil the diced potatoes in salted water.

Meanwhile, in a pan, stew the leeks and cabbage with half of the heated oil.

At the end, add the crushed garlic, salt and black pepper.

When the potatoes have completely softened, strain the water, mash them, add the remaining melted butter, heated milk and mix with the vegetables.

Mix everything well and serve the appetizing mashed potatoes while they're warm.

The leeks can be replaced with spring onions and the milk with sour cream.

Grated hard white cheese and sliced baked bacon can be added to the Irish-Style Mashed Potatoes.
