How to make
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Roll out the puff pastry on a floured work surface into a rectangle with a rolling pin.
Spread the edges of the puff pastry with the beaten egg, add the ham and cheese, fold it or form a triangle, press it with a fork to make the edges stick to each other and spread the puff pastry with egg.
Place the sandwiches on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake them in a preheated oven for about 20 minutes until the delicious sandwiches aquire a golden brown color.
Sprinkle the baked Monte Cristo Sandwiches with powdered sugar and serve them with your favorite jam, maple syrup or honey.
