Wash the lentils. Heat the oil in a pot and fry the crushed onions. Once softened, add the chopped sausage and fry, stirring constantly. Add lentils and top up with 8 1/3 cups (2 liters) of hot water in which you have dissolved the broth.
Allow to boil until the lentils soften slightly. And then add the chopped potatoes. Boil until ready and add the spices. Before removing the lentils with sausage and potatoes from the heat, add the cleaned and finely chopped garlic.
