How to make
Put the yeast, sugar, a tablespoon of flour and lukewarm water in a bowl. Mix them well and leave the yeast to activate.
During this time, the flour is sifted and the salt is added to it. Beat the egg and add it to the bowl with flour, add the activated yeast and oil. Knead a soft dough.
If necessary, add more flour during kneading. The finished dough is left to rest for about 30 to 40 minutes.
The dough is then divided into equal sized balls. Each ball is rolled out into a crust, which is less than 0.2″ (0.5 cm) thick. Thin strips are cut and twisted.
Sprinkle them with sesame seeds, salt and savory herb, or even some other seeds. I spread them with a whole beaten egg before sprinkling them.
Arrange the cracker sticks in a tray lined with baking paper. Bake them for about 10-15 minutes at 360°F (180 degrees) with a fan.
If desired, the savory herb (1 teaspoon) can be added to the dough and 1-2 tablespoons of grinded tomatoes can be added.
