Ingredients

  • sugar - 9 oz (250 g)
  • melted butter - 5.3 oz (150 g)
  • eggs - 3 pcs.
  • salt - 1 pinch
  • vanilla - 2 powders
  • yogurt - 7 oz (200 g)
  • flour - 9 oz (250 g)
  • baking powder - 1 pc.
  • cocoa - 3 tbsp.
  • hot water - 5 tbsp.
  • powdered sugar - for sprinkling
  • syrup
  • sugar - 1/2 cup
  • water - 1 cup
  • lemon juice - 2 tbsp.
  • honey - 2 tbsp.

How to make

In a bowl, pour the melted butter and add the sugar, eggs, vanilla and a pinch of salt.

Beat with a mixer on the highest setting for 5 minutes until the sugar melts.

Add the yogurt and stir.

In a bowl, dissolve the cocoa with hot water and add 1/4 from the cake mixture and stir.

In a greased and floured cake tin, pour the egg mixture, pour the cocoa on it and with a wooden skewer make rotating movements to mix the two mixtures for the two-color sponge cake.

Bake the fluffy sponge cake in a preheated oven at 340°F (170 degree) for about 50 minutes.

Prepare the syrup by mixing all of the ingredients and boil it for 7 minutes after it reaches its boiling point.

Take out the baked sponge cake from the oven and pour the cold syrup over it.

Once it absorbs the syrup and cools down, turn the cake over onto a plate and sprinkle it with powdered sugar.
