How to make
Pour the milk into a bowl, add the soda and wait 1-2 minutes for the milk to foam up. Then add the egg and parts of the flour. A thick slurry should be obtained.
Let the dough rest for 10-15 minutes.
Start frying the dough balls in a small saucepan with at least two fingers of heated oil.
Use two teaspoons dipped in a glass of water to make it easier to separate the dough from the spoon.
Do not fry them over high heat, but over medium heat instead, because the inside of the dough balls might be left raw.
Make the syrup in advance, so that it can almost cool down. Pour the syrup over the already cooled dough balls and sprinkle them with coconut.
