"Grandma will help you not to deprive yourself of sweets while fasting - try this dessert with a jam of your choice"

Ingredients

  • flour - 3 cups
  • water - 1 cup
  • oil - 1/2 of a tea cup
  • sugar - 1/2 of a cup of tea
  • chopped walnuts - 1 tea cup
  • baking soda - 1 tsp.
  • jam - 1 cup (optional / the recipe is made with fig jam)

How to make

In a bowl, sift the flour with a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of baking soda.

Add the chopped walnuts, half a cup of oil and half a cup of sugar. Add a tea cup of water and add the jam of your choice. I used fig jam.

Mix the products very well. Line a 9″ (22 cm) baking tray with baking paper. Pour the prepared mixture into it.

Bake the cake at 360°F (180 degrees) in a preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes.

Remove the baked lean cake from the oven and while it's still warm, sprinkle it with powdered sugar. Wait for it to cool before cutting it!
