Beat the eggs with the sugar until white. Successively, add the semolina, oil, milk, cinnamon, grated lemon peel, raisins, walnuts and grated apple, while constantly stirring.
Mix everything with the sifted flour with baking powder and add the vanilla. Put the batter into a greased and floured form. Bake in a moderate oven, checking its readiness with a stick.
Make a sugar syrup from the dissolved sugar, lemon juice, 3 1/3 tbsp (50 ml) of water and rum flavoring and pour it over the ready sponge cake. If desired, sprinkle it with powdered sugar.
