"How about a traditional Greek dish thatll leave you licking your fingers long after your plates empty?"

Ingredients

  • pork - 2 lb (1 kg) fillets, cut into cubes
  • olive oil - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 ml) for marinade
  • vinegar - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 ml) wine
  • lemon juice - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 ml)
  • garlic - 1 clove, finely chopped
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • black pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • oregano - 1 tablespoon dry
  • thyme - 1 tablespoon dried
  • potatoes - fried to garnish
  • tomatoes - sliced for garnish + put on skewers (optional)
  • lettuce - a few leaves for garnish, if desired
  • sauce - spicy for garnish

How to make

All the ingredients for the marinade are mixed and poured over the pork pieces. Stir to distribute the marinade evenly over the fillets and leave to cool for 1 night.

The next day, put the drained from marinade pork pieces on skewers. Optionally, you can put a piece of tomato between them. Bake the souvlaki, grill it on a charcoal grill, or barbecue.

Serve the pork skewers garnished with a leaf of lettuce, sliced tomatoes and fries. It's good to serve this with hot sauce (optional).
